This is a 4-day introductory workshop in lighting design for theatre and live performance, offering participants a basic set of tools and skills tailored to their needs and experience. Through hands-on practical exercises, students will explore how light can shape space and form, direct the audience’s attention, create atmosphere, and support storytelling. At the end of the workshop, participants will apply and showcase their skills by collaborating on the lighting design for an evening programme performance.

BIO

Maxim has been working as stage manager, technician and video maker for TEV since the age of 16. He studied Set Design at NABA university in Milan and went on to develop his career in theatre lighting, often designing lighting for local companies in Piacenza, Italy.

For the past four years, he has worked at the renowned Piccolo Teatro in Milan as a lighting technician, programming and operating lighting for major productions, including Arlecchino. He has also worked as a followspot operator for Slava's Snowshow and productions at La Scala, gaining extensive experience on some of Italy's most prestigious stages.
