Course Outline

Create art in the meditative world of textiles and embroidery using traditional techniques from different cultures.

In this course, we will explore the colourful and expressive stitches of Indian embroidery, often enriched with beads, bells, and sequins, alongside the elegant simplicity of Sashiko, the traditional Japanese stitching technique based on evenly spaced running stitches that form beautiful geometric patterns.

Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with both styles, beginning with a simple design on a fabric tote bag, while discovering how embroidery can be used in everyday life and to decorate our altar and sacred spaces.

Open to all levels no previous embroidery experience needed.

Payment of the membership and Academy participation fee gives access to all courses.
